Below is a quick story about Finn.
Grass crackled underfoot, crisp from the frost that blanketed the forest floor. A lone being stalked quietly through the night, his breathe melting into the cold stars of the sky. His coat, a combo of pale tans, blended well into the dark tundra forest. His thick mane gently swirled in the wind and a horn a top his head glowed dimly in the dark, providing just enough light for him to see where he was going. Above his head floated a small, crystal-like crown. It shimmered in the night and reflected the frost of the night, or even that it was adding to it. A small creature, that looked to be somewhat like a chipmunk with large ears, skittered at his side, his brightly colored blue pelt stood out against the pale colors of the being it followed. The being signaled with a flick of its horn to climb into the hollow of a nearby tree. The tiny blue creature squeaked in defiance, not wanting to leave the being's side. The being glared sternly at the creature, who sunk sadly to the ground, ears back. The being sighed and smiled down at his companion. He reached down and nuzzled the creature.
"I will always come back for you," the being said in a soft, yet cold voice. The creature nuzzled back and slumped into the hollow. The being waved his forepaw over the opening, creating a barrier of frost and ice, sealing the creature safely inside. He then clawed a long mark across the trunk of the tree before turning away into the dark.
Back on his path, the being eventually found himself at a break in the trees. Ahead was an open meadow, filled with the light from the full moon. The frost had yet to reach the other side so the being was wary to cross that border. Taking a deep breathe to calm his nerves, he crept out into the open. He gazed in awe at how the stars shone in the sky above, out from the cover of the trees. It wasn't a sight he got to see very often, given that he spent a lot of his time alone in frosted forests and caves. As he turned around to marvel at nature's beauty, something appeared even more beautiful than the sights surrounding him. From the other side of the meadow, stepped the most beautiful being he had ever known. He couldn't help but stop and admire the way the stars glittered in her eyes as she stepped into the moonlight. Old feelings overwhelmed him; joy, laughter, and love. These feelings swirled and made his heart beat in ways he hadn't felt in years. It wasn't long until that swirled into something darker. Pain, anger, and betrayal consumed him and he angrily walked up to meet the female being.
"What are you doing here?" He bellowed. The air began to twist harshly through his mane as frost began to pour out of his halo and freeze the ground around him.
"Finn," The female turned sad eyes on the being that stood before her. Her heart ached seeing the one she loved in such pain because of the choices she was forced to make.
"What are you doing here?!" Finn snarled, stepping threateningly towards the female. The frost thickened and a small flurry began to form in the sky above him.
"You have a son." The female stated flatly, doing her best to control the emotions she felt inside. She took a cautious step back, expecting an attack. However, instead of freezing, the flurry vanished, and the wind calmed. Finn's face had emptied and he stared blankly at the ground. His eyes were now void of all emotions, and the spirit that until just a moment ago filled his soul.
"H-how, uh, long have you known?" Finn's voice was as empty as his eyes, but his voice shook as he fought to find the right words. His feet felt frozen to the ground.
"Three years," She responded, staring calmly back at Finn, measuring all of his actions. Finn made no move and the two stood in silence. The cold of the night seemed to go on for eternity. Finn finally looked up after a few moments, his face filled with the feelings he had worked so hard to lock inside. Tears spilled from his eyes as anger furrowed his brow. He looked the female dead-set in the eyes for just a brief moment before turning and running back under the cover of the trees. He blindly charged back to the hollow tree, grabbing Pip by the scruff and the continuing his run north into the night. Eventually they came across a cave and Finn collapsed inside. Finn and Pip curled up together and Finn cried the night away. Images of the beautiful female still etched in his mind.
Meanwhile, the female, sat alone in the moonlit meadow, staring at the stars with tear-filled eyes, wishing for a time when they could have been together.
